The traditional Boxing Day time trial was won by Robin Dromard and the fancy dress prize went to Murdo White.
A big "well done" to all the brave souls who, despite everything, went out in Barking Creek to represent the club. The first attempt to start the race had to be aborted due to an unscheduled tanker in the estuary, but not before the paddlers had sat on the water in a biting wind for over half an hour. The race was eventually able to go ahead with the 9-mile course reduced to 6, but by this time a number of paddlers were unable to continue, including several of the already depleted Stortford team. With only six BSCC boats finishing the race, the club was able to manage only 5th place overall - see the league table for club points. Full results are online.
