Norwich Hasler (22 May 2016)

25/5/2016

With the club having had so many of the team promoted at the last race, hopes for good results at Norwich were cautious. However, there were still enough strong performances to bring a good team result of 4th place overall.

The highest scorers of the day were the new pairing of Euan & Emilia, who won Div 9 doubles. David G (racing for the first time in Div 8) came second and received a double promotion to Div 6. Simon came third in Div 9 and was promoted to Div 8, with Wayne very close behind. Jacque & Dave again won medals, taking third in Div 8 doubles.
Toby fitted comfortably into Div 5, finishing the new distance of 13km in the middle of field. Alex and Siobhan both had successful first marathon races.

Cheshunt HYMB Regatta (15 May 2016)

19/5/2016

A small group of Stortford paddlers went to Herts Young Mariners Base to take part in the second FRA Sprint Regatta of the Summer Series. The 500m K1 races were held on the river, and then the paddlers transferred to the lake for the 200m K1s.

Gold medals were won by Catherine and Rywin in their respective classes, and Ryewin also made a big improvement to her personal best 500m time. Yazmin was the fastest Stortford paddler and took silver in the u14 Girls class, in which Emilia also won bronze.
After the lunch break some of the group formed mixed crews with other clubs in the K4s. Connor and Emilia were able to finish the afternoon dry, while Alex and Kaitie's crew were not so lucky.
