BSCC were again able to come second overall at this race, and also first in terms of Dick Grieve points (on performance of unranked juniors only).

Gold medals were won by Murdo in u16 Boys, Danny in Vet Men, and Emilia  in u14 Girls. Emilia was also awarded the Bob Porter Trophy for the winner of this class.

Thanks to a big effort by non-racing members and especially members' families, the club again staged this major race successfully. Ron and Alison Thorogood, Matt P, Eddie, Stewart, Ken and Andrew marshalled at the club. Lynne, Shane, Josh, Joe F, Mick H, Fred, Jean, Katie P, John P, James, Olive, Alasdair and Steve W marshalled the turns and portages. Seb, Emily and Isabelle swept the course. Anne W was the designated first-aider. Many of those racing also helped with the car park and other matters before and after the race, including Malcolm, Gary, Ricky, Kevin, Mike T, Chris, Judith, Dave and Wayne. Charlotte, Jan, Sue, Brian, Will, Isabel, Kerstin, Lucy W and Jacque ran the refreshments & BBQ. Booking in and results were handled by Angela, Siobhan and Stewart. Ant made the signs. Particular thanks to those who stayed behind to tidy up. Race Organiser Danny's forward planning made sure everything was under control and only the weather was left to chance.

The good turnout  from the Stortford paddlers secured us an overall second place to Chelmsford, but a strong showing from the club's novice juniors put BSCC in the lead for the Dick Grieve series trophy.
