Danny B, paddling for Stortford for the first time, won a Div 2 gold medal for the team. Paul & Richard were back on form with bronze in Div 8. Mike T had an excellent race in Div 7 and only narrowly missed out on a bronze medal - he looks set to be promoted to Div 6. Although few of the top places went to Stortford paddlers, solid scoring across a range of divisions delivered a good overall team performance. Mike & Alasdair's 5th place in Div 5 doubles was particularly impressive against a large number of entries including two higher-ranked crews who had been amalgamated in. |
It was pleasing to see a large number of new faces amongst the team that went to Chelmsford. Chris Sze elected to go straight into Div 7 for his first Hasler race, and this proved to be spot-on and he finished a comfortable 9th. All of the new novices in Div 9 completed the course even though some have only joined the club very recently. Yazmin and Wayne did particularly well against an exceptionally large Div 9 field.
In Lightnings, William was awarded a well-deserved silver in Under-12 Boys, with Connor not far behind him. Jack and Ryewin also won medals in Under 10 Boys and Girls respectively.
