A really good Hasler season for BSCC reached its culmination at Leighton Buzzard. Although seven clubs were represented, the 127 competitors were mainly drawn from just four: Norwich CC and BSCC (on equal points at the top of the regional league), Chelmsford CC (regional champions in 2025 and 2024) and if course host club Leighton Buzzard CC.

| In temperatures approaching 30 degrees, the 28 team members gave their best - and brought home a haul of 23 medals. Amongst all the many successes, one stand-out performance was from Oleh, who not only achieved an excellent time and a gold medal in Division 4, but also a well-deserved promotion to Division 3. Another big Well Done goes to Alex T who was 2nd in GS-C and has been promoted to GS-B. |  |

Chelmsford CC were the winners with 597 points. The results announced on the day indicated that BSCC were second with 589 points. Had this been correct, Stortford would have stood alone as Regional Champions, but it was not to be. It was later discovered that the home team had inadvertently short-changed themselves of points, and when this error was corrected it was in fact L. Buzzard who were second with 591, reducing BSCC to third.
The correction altered the regional league table, so for 2026 Stortford and Chelmsford share the position as joint top of the Eastern Region league. This matches the position we achieved in 2018.
Though a little disappointing not to top the league outright this year, everything is still, as coach Joe pointed out, moving in the right direction. Stortford's overall team performance has been improving steadily since the enforced 2-year break due to the pandemic. BSCC finished the season 4th in 2022, 3rd in 2023, equal 2nd in 2024, and 2nd in 2025.

| The race was won by Chelmsford CC (597 points), with Leighton Buzzard CC 2nd (591) and BSCC a close 3rd (589). As the final race for this season in the Eastern Region, this means that Stortford and Chelmsford are joint winners of the Eastern Region Cup. It also means that the club has secured its place in the National Hasler Final to take place at Richmond in September. |  |
